Positive news this week as EMR has announced a £60 million programme to refurbish its electric Class 360 fleet which operates EMR Connect and Luton Airport Express services between Corby and London St Pancras stopping at Kettering, Wellingborough, Bedford, Luton and Luton Airport Parkway.
Improving the passenger experience is critical to ensuring more people choose to travel by train.
We know the current quality of the provision has been an important issue for residents and elected representatives for some time and it is vital that the newly refurbished trains are in service as quickly as possible. At the same time, the new trains must consider the needs of all passengers, and we would expect that to include passengers who wish to use their time productively – this means high quality digital connectivity throughout journeys as well as the provision of facilities such as charge points and the provision of tables for laptops.
We look forward to the new fleet being in place as soon as possible.
